Bald
Mountain Ski Area is located amongst the vast Clearwater Mountains along
the Gold Rush Historic Byway in North Central Idaho.
The Clearwater Ski Club offers your whole family affordable, winter fun
on land leased from Potlatch Corporation. Since establishment in 1959,
this "close to you" ski hill offers terrain for every level
of skier and snowboarder. Check out our links to learn more about our
small, but action-packed facility.

(NOTE: We will not be able to accept Debit or Credit Cards this season. In addition, we will not have any ski or snowboard equipment available for rent, so please plan accordingly. Thank you.)

Weekends in Jan - Feb 2012 - Saturdays: 3 days, 3 hours per day + lift ticket ONLY $90 per person. Reserve the dates by calling the ski hill (208) 464-2311.
**5th & 6th Graders ISAA Ski FREE Programs!**
The Clearwater Ski Club and Idaho Ski Areas Association wants to encourage youth to get out and experience the joy of skiing. All 5th and 6th graders can ski free with the ISAA Passport Program. Click here to learn more and download an application.

Here are excerpts from a recent blog entry on the Ski Idaho Challenge web site regarding Bald Mountain.
"This gem of a family ski area is nestled on a peak, with a mid-mountain lodge and beginner tow, and situated with ridge access at the top providing a very wide swath of terrain....
...Bald Mountain provided plenty of challenge, with great powder, tight trees, and an excellent face below the upper lift house with fresh turns all day."

..."You get plenty of fun for a great price at Bald Mountain. When you arrive fuel up with some homemade biscuits and gravy in the lodge. Then board the vintage T-bar to a surprising variety of terrain on 140 acres. There’s something for everyone—cruisers, trees and short, sweet, steep drops into pillow soft snow."
Bus Schedule
There is no charge for bus service from Orofino to the Bald Mountain
Ski Area. The Orofino bus will stop to pick-up skiers at the Glenwood
IGA and will leave at 8:00 a.m. It will stop again at Lower Wells Bench
Skier Pick-up Area around 8:15 a.m., the old Grangemont School at 8:30
a.m. and the Bald Mountain 3-Mile sign at 8:45 a.m. Return time will depend
on when the Ski Hill is closing. If the bus leaves around 3:30 p.m., then
it should be back to Orofino around 4:30-4:45 p.m. This bus will run every
Saturday and Sunday while the Ski Hill is open.

The Clearwater Ski Club is looking for board members and volunteers to help with the operation of the Bald Mountain Ski Area. A list of areas in which assistance is needed will be posted at the lodge. Or, contact for more information. Thanks for a great season!!
